Father Michael Hoffman
Father Michael began his ministry as the Rector of Christ Church in December of 2016, after serving as rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, TX. Before that he served as the vicar of St. Peter and St. Paul in Mission, TX, an assistant rector at St. Andrew’s, Seguin, TX, and a youth minister at St. Luke’s, Birmingham, AL. He is a two-time graduate (BA and MDiv) from Sewanee, the University of the South, and is finishing a doctorate from Sewanee to complete the trifecta. Michael and his wife Amy have a 4th grader, Garrett, and a 4 year-old, Zoe. Michael is passionate about proclaiming the Good News of God in Christ and expanding the Kingdom of God inside and outside of the church walls.
Rev. Jessica Harris Babcock is a native of north Alabama and a cradle Episcopalian. As our Associate Rector for Outreach, Pastoral Care and Mission, Jessica works to connect parishioners to meaningful ministries abroad, within the church and within the Pensacola community. She holds a B.A. in English from the Centre College of Kentucky, a M.S. in Adult Education from Georgia State University and a M. Div. from the University of the South. She and her husband Dwight met while serving in the Peace Corps. They have two daughters, one finishing high school at St. Andrews-Sewanee School and the other who attends Tulane University.
Music Director, Organist
A native of Ohio, Ken Karadin has been Parish Musician at Christ Church since 1977. He took his musical education at Kent State University (Bachelor of Music, cum laude, 1970) and The School of Sacred Music at Union Theological Seminary in New York City (Master of Sacred Music, 1972).
Mr. Karadin has been active in West Florida's cultural life both as a performer and as a concert presenter in his work with “Music at Christ Church” and “ClassicFest.” In recent seasons Mr. Karadin has presented organ and harpsichord performances in Pensacola, Destin, Mobile, New Orleans, and Washington, D. C. He received the 1991 Music Award from the Arts Council of Northwest Florida for excellence in musical performance during the preceding season. He has performed with and guest-conducted the Choral Society of Pensacola and appeared as soloist with the Pensacola Symphony Orchestra. As his evil twin, he has appeared as accordionist for the Pensacola Opera Guild, on WUWF’s RadioLive, and with the Gulf Coast Symphony accompanying Luciano Pavarotti.
Mr. Karadin has served as adjunct music professor at The University of West Florida and Pensacola Junior College and has served on the Committee on Liturgy and Allied Arts of the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. He is a graduate of the Leadership Pensacola program, a past president of the Arts Council of Northwest Florida, and as a music grant review panelist with the Florida Arts Council. He has also served a number of terms as dean while a member of the Pensacola chapter of the A.G.O.
As a lifelong Episcopalian, James spent the majority of his time in ministry with children, youth, and young adults in the Episcopal Church and was raised in the Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. James will develop the youth ministries with 6-12th graders and their families in addition to serving as the Lay Chaplain at the Episcopal Day School. James holds a Bachelor's Degree in Adventure Education with an emphasis in Recreation Management from Prescott College. He is also connected with Diocesan Youth Ministries, Camp Beckwith, and Province IV Youth Ministries as well as those across the Episcopal Church (ECUSA). He and his wife Emmi have two children, Grayson and Ainsley, who attend the Mother’s Day Out program at Christ Church.
Director of Communications
Erin joined Christ Church in late July 2016 to manage overall church communications including our website, social media, photography, and overall marketing strategy. She holds an MA in Communication from the University of South Alabama in Mobile and is working on a PhD in Communication and an MS/JD in Sport Management/Sport Law at the University of Florida.
