Women In Mission Update (March 27, 2017)

You are cordially invited to step forward with your time and talents to help grow these ministries in your journey with Jesus Christ. For more information about these ministries, contact the coordinator(s) indicated below.

Children in Crisis (CIC)

On Saturday, March 18, Christ Church Women in Mission (WiM) sponsored a "Celebrate Spring" party attended by 29 foster children at The Children's Neighborhood operated by Children in Crisis (CIC). The children's house parents were also on hand to join in the festivities.  Following the devotional, the children had a delightful time digging into bags of party favors and playing organized games. To top off the afternoon the WiM group served cake and ice cream to the whole crowd. Included in the group were Lynn Burden, Carol Cooper, Dawn Cooper and June Linke.

"We had a blast laughing with the kids," said Dawn Cooper as she cleared away empty cake plates. While helping with the games, Lynn Burden stated, "All the teams are cheering for each other! What fun!"

Children in Crisis is one of the WiM signature ministries. Since 2008, The CIC Neighborhood, located in Fort Walton Beach, has provided a nurturing, family-style home to more than 675 abused, neglected and abandoned children from Northwest Florida.

All of the children served by CIC are from communities located within the Episcopal Diocese of the Central Gulf Coast. Interacting with these children (age 6 to 14) in a joyful, family-style atmosphere is a wonderful opportunity to practice our mission of loving God by loving others.
