The Rev. Dr. Michael Hoffman
RECTOR

The Rev. Dr. Michael Hoffman began his ministry as the 18th Rector of Christ Church in December of 2016, after serving as rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney, TX. Prior to St. Peter’s, he served successive posts as a youth minister at St. Luke’s, Birmingham, AL, as an assistant rector at St. Andrew’s, Sequin, TX, and finally as the vicar of St. Peter and St. Paul in Mission, TX. He is a three-time graduate of Sewanee, the University of the South. He holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Divinity, and he recently completed his Doctor of Ministry.
Father Michael and his wife Amy have a ninth grader, Garrett, and a fifth grader, Zoe. Michael is passionate about proclaiming the Good News of God in Christ and expanding the Kingdom of God inside and outside of the church walls.

Katie is a native of Orlando, Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Divinity from Duke Divinity School. During her formation, she interned in parishes and organizations in Orlando, Nashville (TN), Durham (NC), and Cary (NC).
Katie enjoys playing the violin, traveling, and spending time with her two cats. She is passionate about working with her neighbors inside and outside the walls of the church, sharing the story of God’s salvation, proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ and participating in God’s transformative mission in the world.
Dr. Jason Hobratschk
DIRECTOR OF MUSIC MINISTRY

Dr. Jason Hobratschk was born in La Grange, Texas and grew up on his family’s farm. He graduated summa cum laude from Concordia University at Austin, Texas with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Church Music – Organ, Church Music – Conducting, and Environmental Science. In 2005, he was awarded a Master of Music degree in Organ Performance from Portland State University (PSU) in Portland Oregon, where he studied organ with Dr. Lyn Loewi. Jason was also a baritone in the internationally-acclaimed PSU Chamber Choir under the direction of Dr. Bruce Browne.
Jason matriculated at the Florida State University in Fall 2006 in order to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Musicology. While completing his coursework, Jason served as Staff Singer and Organist at St. John’s Episcopal Church under the direction of Dr. Elizabeth Calhoun. From September 2009 through July 2010, Jason lived in Munich, Germany as a Fulbright scholar and conducted research for his dissertation, Werner Egk and Joan von Zarissa: Music as Politics and Propaganda under National Socialism. He received his Ph.D. in December 2011.
Prior to his arrival at Christ Church, Jason served asOrganist and Choirmaster at St. Augustine of Canterbury Church in Vero Beach, where he organized Voces Vero, a professional chamber choir, and served as Artistic Director of the Vero Beach Choral Society.
When the weather is nice and the church work is done, you will find Jason in his garden.

Treece began helping children and adults give voice to their praise of God when he was 19. After earning a Bachelor’s degree in Music Theory and Composition from Auburn University, he received his Master’s degree in Music Composition from the Meadows School of the Arts and a Master’s degree in Sacred Music with an emphasis on Choral Conducting from the Perkins School of Theology in 1993. During his time at Southern Methodist University, Treece studied with Kevin Hanlon, Lloyd Pfautsch, Rosemary Heffley and Michael Hawn. He became a diaconal minister of music in the United Methodist Church after being consecrated in May 1993.
Treece was the music engraver for the hymnal supplement for the Living of These Days: Resources for Enriching Worship edited by Michael Hawn which was published in March 1995.
Prior to arriving in Pensacola, Treece served churches in Alabama, Texas, and Missouri. He has served at Christ Church Pensacola since January 1996 with a focus on directing the children’s choir and conducting the parish choir. In 2001, he served as clinician and conductor for the Santa Rosa All-County Elementary Chorus.

Cleveland has been with Christ Church for 16 years. He loves serving the parishioners, and it’s evident that he is answering the call to serve. Cleveland is originally from New Orleans and has five children.
Staff, parishioners, and visitors are drawn to Cleveland by his lively Spirit, contagious smile, and infectious laugh. One of Cleveland’s favorite scriptures is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
