Christ Church “Summer of Service” activities are underway! The projects listed below, sponsored by the Outreach Committee, provide opportunities for you and your family to volunteer your time in a variety of settings. Volunteer sign-up sheets will be available in the Parish Hall.

Bag it for Manna Collection

Manna Food Pantries is suffering a food shortage and has asked Christ Church for our help. Grocery bags decorated by Episcopal Day School students are available on the information table. Please take and fill them with nourishing non-perishable food for Manna Food Pantries, and return by Sunday, June 2. Thank you for your contributions!

Lunch for Kids at Camp Happy Sands

Time: Carpool leaves Christ Church at 10:30am

Join us in setting up and serving picnic lunch for 50 children. The children will share stories about their Camp Happy Sands adventure, while we all have lunch in the pavilion. Parental supervision at the distribution event is required for youth under 14.

Volunteer at Manna Food Pantry

Time: 9am-11am
Location: Manna Food Pantry (3030 N. E Street)

Come participate on site at Manna Food Pantry with assisting with Warehouse needs. Manna Food Pantry relies on volunteers to help package and sort through donated food, and to stock and rotate pantry shelves. Please wear comfortable clothing and closed-toe shoes.

"A Sister's Embrace" Chapstick Collection

“A Sister’s Embrace” is a ministry with a mission of creating awareness of the young women and girls forever affected by their experience in human trafficking trade. Come support “A Sister’s Embrace” in the fight against modern-day slavery. Hear more about “A Sister’s Embrace” and come join the assembly line as we affix labels on Chapstick to promote hotline resources to end human trafficking.

Join the Daughters of the King, Mollie Dorr Roberts Chapter at Christ Church, in setting up and serving picnic lunch for 50 children. Help the Homeless - Youth

Dropoff at the church at 9am – Pickup at 1pm at Bubba’s Ice cream – All students are welcome to join us as we get to know the homeless within our city. The goal is not to pass out as many homeless bags as possible, but to build relationships and have conversations with them. Meet at the church at 9am, bring money for lunch and ice cream. We will walk around downtown for a while then grab lunch then finish at Bubba’s ice cream at 1pm.

Epps Christian Center Toiletry Collection

Please donate unopened travel sizes of toothpaste, toothbrush, floss, razors, shaving cream, shampoo, hand sanitizer, and tissues for the Epps Christian Center Toiletry Kit Packing event. Your donations can be placed the bin labeled “Toiletry Items” in the hallway next to the box for Manna Food Pantry.
