PASTORAL CARE

Circle of Care is the volunteer arm of the Pastoral Care Ministry that assists our clergy in serving the needs of parishioners and their families.

Circle of Care is a team of dedicated persons, who with counsel and discernment, feel called to these ministries. Our goal is to make sure that our parishioners are cared for during illnesses, rehabilitation or after childbirth. Among many other things, Circle of Care takes the Eucharist to anyone who is ill, provide meals, knit prayer shawls, visit new parents and their babies, call and visit parishioners in nursing homes and at home, send prayer cards and pray.

Parishioners are encouraged to contact Christ Church with pastoral care needs through our prayer request form below.

  • Bereavement Hospitality Ministry

The Bereavement Hospitality Ministry provides compassionate guidance in assisting families in organizing a reception in the Parlor or Parish Hall following a funeral or memorial service of a member of Christ Church Parish.

  • Eucharistic Visitors

Eucharistic Visitors bring the Holy Sacraments of Bread and Wine from Christ Church to parishioners who are unable to attend services.

  • Food Ministry

The Food Ministry provides a meal for parishioners who are recovering from surgery, illness, grieving or celebrating a new life in the family.

  • Intercessory Prayer Ministry

The Intercessory Prayer Ministry serves by opening ourselves to be God’s instruments of healing in the world, coming together weekly in a small group to pray the confidential and public parish prayer lists. By invitation only.

Please submit your prayer request below.

  • New Baby Ministry

The New Baby Ministry cares for parishioners having or adopting children to offer the support, encouragement, love, prayer, and care of the church family. If you are expecting or know someone who is expecting in our parish, please contact the parish office to let us know.

  • Pastoral Care Flower Ministry

The Pastoral Care Flower Ministry arranges altar flowers from Sunday services for parishioners in pastoral need or to those celebrating life milestones. Flower arrangements are delivered by the Brotherhood of St Andrew.

  • Prayer Card Ministry

The Prayer Card Ministry sends notes of encouragement or condolence to parishioners in need so that these individuals know that prayers are being said for them.

  • Prayer Shawl Ministry

The Prayer Shawl Ministry tends to one another and to those in pastoral care need in Christ Church and beyond, through knitting or crocheting prayer shawls and prayer blankets. The prayer shawls & blankets are sacramental in that they are outward and visible signs of God’s abiding presence, love, mercy and healing. They are presented to parishioners as the need arises.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets every 3rd Thursday of the month at 9:30 am in the Parlor. Newcomers always welcome; instructions provided for those who wish to learn!

  • Telephone Ministry

The Telephone Ministry maintains contact with homebound parishioners to keep them involved and informed of parish life as active parishioners.
